Default Fuel guage

Heya boys & girls

Hope you all had a great Chrissy & all the best for the new year

Question..........

I am having probs with my fuel guage (MY95). It shows 'full' on refuelling full tank but the needle 'drops too fast' with driving & at 250ks~ it is on empty but then keeps going past empty & eventually runs out of fuel at about 350-390ks~

I have had the fuel sender changed but it didn't fix the prob....

ANY IDEAS GUYS??

Cheers!
Heidi

Sounds like your fuel gauge is out. Best way to check your new sender is to take it out of the tank. keep the harness connected and turn ignition on. Move the sender arm up and down slowley and check what the fuel gauge does. If when in the down position (ie when the fuel tank shoud be empty) if the gauge reads 1/4 etc then u have a faulty gauge........ and vice versa if the sender unit is in the 1/4 position and the gauge reads empty then the gauge is faulty also....

Hope this helps u
