It's not a huge amount to worry about anyway. If you left the diff slightly under full it probably wouldn't spit out as it heats up, but I'd rather have a bit of a mess. You're only talking about maybe 20ml of oil I'd reckon.
The rear diffs get surprisingly hot in competition, especially with DCCD.

I had a faulty diff plug washer once which leaked....easy to overlook.
