Default Rear Diff Noise?

Bullshit aside, I have a MY05 STi.
Ever since I've had it, when you quickly change gears at high RPM's, there's a reasonably loud thud from the rear of the car...
Rear Diff knocking?
Does anyone else get this?

Has anyone tried the Whiteline Rear Diff Bushes, apparently they fix this?

I get that too when my DCCD is set to full rear. With mine, its the plate LSD pressure rings compressing and then letting go quickly as the synchros match speed. I already have Whiteline bushes and it just makes it louder.

These cars have active/mechanical diffs, you won't get silent operation.

Lock your DCCD and then do some shifting. if it mostly goes away, then its probably your rear diff.

Either the back lash needs adjustment, or the LSD is making noise.

If its really loud, then get it looked at. With mine its only a moderate click clack noise. Although my interpretation of an acceptable amount of nosie may be different to yours.

I use Motul RBF 600, always use it. Its about $45 a bottle so its not the most cost effective but its always been consistent. You don't need to use expensive fluid, just as long as its fresh before an event.
