Default CV Boots.

I have early GD front shafts(version 8?!) in my ver 4 gc8, and the boot has rubbed on the bottom of my Tein coilovers on the front right. Its split pretty badly. Im pretty sure that it was caused when one of the damper motors came loose. Made the wheel smash up in the arch and made a racket. There's a bit of grease thats sprayed up. CV isnt clicking or anything.
Just wondering if there is a slimmer cv boot out there, so it cant hit the coilovers again, and if not then where can i get a standard version 8 cv boot from?

Gday dude,

I went thru the CV boot games a lil while ago. (Had to replace a few before pit inspection). Obviously there is OEM dealer/AMCAP options if you're that way inclined.

Or, take ID, OD, (boot 'openings' - both ends) and length measurements, and REPCO or Pedders can generally match one up for you, and cheaper. Or if you have the boot off, take it down, and you should be able to get a match. I just did all mine on my Sti. (Didnt use OEM parts).

If you dont want to buy the CV tool to do the belts up, you can borrow mine. But they are inexpensive and cheap and cheerful.

Brent.
