Default Leakdown Test - how to?

Got a compression tester recently to test the boxer. What's the proper procedure for doing a leakdown test? Do I take off all the sparkplugs then crank to motor to get compression on a cylinder at a time? More importantly, any tips of what NOT to do? What's a good compression reading?

Cheers
