Help! Boost doing funky things.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKYlusq8ER8
Linked video is a shit camera-phone recording of the issue, for demonstration purposes... 2nd gear, from slow roll. I left the car garaged for about 2-3 weeks, came back to drive it, warmed it up, and noticed this happening.... Boost leak? Or something worse ? It reaches peak boost fine, in-fact I had to boost hard three times before the symptom showed itself again for me to record it. I've had a quick look at the vacuum lines and couldn't see anything major. what else could this be? It doesn't feel any different to drive, it's just the boost gauge that's rather off-putting. The only recent modifications under the bonnet is an oil catch can, around 2 months ago. Nothing else has changed. Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't believe so, I don't have an AccessPort, and have plans for Verso in the future.

so, when the car was off, blew some compressed air at around 15+ psi down the vacuum lines, no obvious leaks of any kind (air rushing out of some hole).
removed and refitted the BOV vacuum line, removed and refitted the defi guage vacuum measurement line (enters the manifold at the front left - if your looking at it from under the bonnet). took the car for a spin after this, and it no longer hits its desired 18psi, it boosts to 15psi now. 2nd gear drops from 15 to 11ish psi, the rest hold 14/15 psi fine (1/3/4). any thoughts?

1.Clean the boost control solenoid with some good quality aerosol throttle body cleaner, sounds like it's sticking/gummy.
2. Check that the bov isn't leaking (with the engine at idle, spray it down with same cleaner that you'll use for the solenoid, if the idles stumbles the bov is leaking & knackered). 3. check all hose clamps between the turbo and the throttle body, tweak them all a little tighter. Report back! P.s Don't blow more than 9-10 psi down the boost control lines, you may rupture the wastgate actuator's diaphgram.
