Surging problem - 05 WRX
I seem to have an intermittent surging problem, usually when decelerating at about 2/3k RPM.
The car will just violently pull forward, like it wants to stall, then it sorts its self out and away we go. Every now and then it does stall on idle and won't start again. I have to leave it for about 10 minutes, then it will start and drive with no problem at all. It's an 05 WRX which is pretty much stock apart from the Butler TBE, walbro 500 pump, resonatorectomy and verso tune. From what I've been reading in previous threads, it seems like it could be the Oxygen sensor. My question isn't how to fix it (as I will book it in with ASG) but is it ok to drive? Or will I pop my engine? I only ask this as I can't afford to get it fixed for a while, and I'm happy to let it sit there until I do (as I have a daily to keep me going). I just don't want to risk any damage if I take it for a spin. Also, I can feel my clutch slipping on take off. Same question again - will driving with a bung clutch cause damage to the gearbox? (or anything else for that matter?) And I'm not talking serious k's here, just putting around town on the weekend. Thanks for your help Tom |
