WANTED at standard level
Default 02 STI Radiator Replacement

Not Happy JAN

Just completed the 100k service on MY02 STI @ my uncles workshop last night "more as a precaution as car has only done 71k" Everything was sweet.

Then this morning decided to wash down the engine bay as there was a few greasy hand marks and coolant around the place. Drove car down the road to my mates house about 1km away and when i pull up steam starts pouring at the bonnet.

On closer inspection the top rad hose just snapped off the plastic top tank

Now i need to spend more dollars just to get this thing running - proving to be an expensive exercise this week.

Anyway just wondering if anyone has heard about the following TSB

http://www.scoobymods.com/02-03-radi...ent-t4925.html

Since my radiator does not have a cap on the top tank i'm assuming i can no longer get this version as indicated by the TSB or does this only apply to vehicles sold in USA.

I will contact subaru on mon to confirm, just wanting some feed back.

Does anyone no where i can source the SAMCO coolant hose locally. On my last WRX i order from the UK - but i dont want to wait this time....

that happens when the clamp gets done up too tight, sometimes NATRAD has the right top tank otherwise you just put a T piece in for the over flow, pretty easy.
i can find out on monday about samco hoses

Thanks for that.

The plastic piece that broke off has small hairline cracks on the inside...... i guess we disturbed it when we removed the hose yesterday. Judging by the hairline cracks it was due to go soon - just didn't expect this soon ;(

Don't you just love when manufacturers supersede parts on vehicles making you purchase x dollars worth of new parts to fix your vehicle

Anyone used these radiators........

http://justjap.com/store/product.php...cat=300&page=1

a few guys on rexnet have been running these with no problems.

Alot cheaper than a PWR radiator or Koyo Ali

1.3 bar on radiator & 1.08 bar on the header tank.
