+1 for testing out the comfort factor. I get back aches during long trips, anything longer than a couple of hours without a break is annoying. Maybe it's my 10yo seats?

According to Fuelwatch Caltex Exmouth have it, but I highly doubt it when there is nothing in Carnarvon or Karratha or any further north for that matter. A tanker wouldn't drive past Carnarvon just for a shit hole like Exmouth with about 8 cars in town that actually could use it versus the thousands of 1988 camper vans all on 92...

That being said, you'll be fine, fill up in Carnarvon, fill up again at Minilya rdhouse (1hr past Carnarvon) then you should make it back to Carnarvon or at least Minilya if your only staying in Coral Bay, this will eliminate your need to fill up in Coral Bay at well over $2 a litre for 92...

Hope that helps.
When did you do that trip, cause we've got Caltex Vortex 98 and BP Ultimate in Carnarvon. BP here have had Ultimate for quite awhile now and Caltex only started gettig 98 in the last coupla years. As I live in Carnarvon if there was no 98 I would of retuned my car for 95 as it is available there was no need.

Standard suspension and exhaust? No probs.
Standard suspension and 3" exhaust? Enjoyable.
Coils and 3" exhaust? Sports mode.
Coils, exhaust and fixed back seat. Much less enjoyable...
Extensive mods and nie on 'padless' seat...? Get out looking/feeling like a prawn.

Or if you want the full experience, ask Matt, (jester), about Collie drives in his stripped out, short ratio'd, radio-less GC...

Brent.

Wow... Youre a celebrity here it seems.

12 days, 42 page intro thread. Im surprised the mods kept it open that long.

Your car will be fine for extended driving.

Brent.

LOL from where?? Isn't it all smooth Freeway pretty much?

I've found the Leach Hwy Westbound between the Kwinana and Stock Rd to be most uncomfortable for some reason...must be the high volume of trucks!

They're the same as most other cars with 4 wheels...
If it's got a loud exhaust, it's gonna be loud.
If you have crap seats, your gonna get a sore back.
If you have coilovers, it's gonna be bumpy.
If your engine has something wrong with it, your gonna use alot of fuel.
If your generally abit of a wuss, you need a 100k+ Mercedes or something.

We just drove my Legacy to Geraldton and back a couple of weekends ago (5 hour trip each way). No probs at all. We're used to the coilovers.
