'02 STi springs in an '06 STI...?
Hi everyone.
I tried searching for a dedicated Suspension thread similar to the "RIMS" one but could not find anything or anything of the like and have a question I need answered urgently. (At work so have internet access but cannot make phone calls) Anyway, there is a gent selling some MY02 STi Lowered Springs over east and they're going for an awesome price. Was looking into getting these temporarily as I'm still saving for some good coilovers and thought these would be great in the meantime. I've heard through the grapevine however that these may not fit an '06 STI. Would this be true and could anyone confirm this? No use getting them if they won't fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I've unfortunately missed a Suspension thread if someone could just post it up I'll use that next time I have any questions etc. and Admin can delete this thread accordingly. Thanks for looking. Andrew. |

Jusy keep saving for the coilovers. Why waste money buying and paying freight for something and then paying for labour to install it just to rip them out again soon? That's even if they do fit....

Sh*t... Was told something similar but was hoping it wasn't true!
Anyway, I have the answers I need. Regarding the coilovers, I am still saving and eventually will have some that will suit my needs but the missus has surprised me with a few bodyparts for the car including wheels and I'm not sure if the car will sit too high for my liking with stock suspension hence feeling the need for some lowering in the meantime. I don't mind fitting them with a few mates over an afternoon with a few beers and the springs were cheap as without freight so with freight was alright anyway but yeah you guys are right. I'll keep saving for some coilovers in the meantime. Being back at Uni is a Pain in the Ass! Quick question to Admin if they see this... Would it be feasible to have a Suspension thread in the "Mechanical" Sub-Forums? Just thinking that it may weed out n00bs and n00b questions like mine. |

Save up and buy the parts you really want to put in the first time and save a bomb on multiple lots of labour to keep switching them.
It might sit a little higher than you want for a while but it is no higher than it was factory and its not like you can see it when you are driving it anyway.

Get it all done together if possible. Save yourself labour, not to mention time. Is keeping the car stock an option until you have all the gear? Or are you like me and just want it NOW NOW NOW I know that feeling (also know the whole Uni being a bitch feeling too). What kind of coilovers did you have in mind out of interest?

By the time you buy some awesome cheap 02 STi springs from over East and ship them here, they'll cost as much as buying a set of 06 STi springs locally.
