Hi all,

I'm off to Asia later in the year and was lookin to get some parts for my lil baby who's on the way

BOV, turbo timer and exhaust is proly all that'll fit in the suitcase (Or what would be just larger than a suitcase)

So far KL, Hong Kong, Phuket and Penang are on the list.

Any idea where I could find a good deal? (Which stores, nearby cities, etc.)

I've heard/read somewhere that theyre pretty keen on taking advantage of you pricewise if you're not very local. Opinions?

i bought parts from hk last time. as soon as i speak the dude knew i'm from overseas. he may have ripped me off abit, but the parts were still significantly cheaper than what you get from perth. especially when australian currency are strong.

there another popular tuning shop in HK call "GT SPORTS" they have shops all over HK.

kl will be the cheapest...go to a place in sunway (1/2 hr out of kl central) called ss racing...cheapest place i came across the times i was over there & have a huge range of new & used gear...

personally wouldnt bother bringin in a zorst as u can source here locally cheap as (sub 1k for staino systems) & be a hassle considering weight/size etc...

as for bringin new items into country ensure you remove them from boxes...*cough* to avoid import taxes *cough*

go to KL they should have all the parts u will need

haha GT Sports - these blokes are orite just bargin with them - i bought all my apexi gauges from them cheap - and my mate got coil overs from them cheap -

only problem with these blokes is if you buy anything get it before you leave kow cause you'll end up waiting ages for it.

one think i found in hk is i couldnt get much help cause the wrx isnt a huge mod car compared to skyline and the other soughts.

Top Racing - are a good lil shop - quite a distance from central kowloon- english is a barrier out there but - money is all the same - talks!

at the time i was there they had a awesome evo that was worked off its rock!!!

go to gt shop, and say your from perth-wrx - i showed them the website to convince them there's a huge backing for recommendation haha

what slugwrx said go to sunway got over 20 shops...just stay away from the rim shop (rip off).

I'm thinking its probably worth checking prices everywhere here before i leave as well or its a pointless effort.

Jump on the MTR from Tsim Sha Tsui (Nathan Rd in Kowloon) and go about four stops north to Mongkok. Walk east out of the MTR station about 500m. Riceboy stores everywhere including those mentioned above.

its always good to check around.
but dun bother trying to buy autronics from hk, cos they won't sell it to ya unless you're gonna use the autronics in hk or china. they wouldn't even give me a quote, lol

As STiroids said, Mongkok. Look for the basketball courts as the stores are around there.
