if you change the ratio's in your car power output won't change, you will accelerate slower/quicker and lose/gain top end depending on what ratio's you change too

Dyno operator will run the car with the closest to a 1:1 gear output.

I.e. 4th Gear on a 5 speed.

The operator should also enter in the gear/diff ratios to enable the dyno to calculate out the correct power.

But, comparing dyno plots is like comparing dick sizes. No one cares about the 10hp differences, its only the 50-100hp differences you need to look at. You need to take into consideration atmospheric conditions such as temperature. If it is an epically hot day, the dyno will calculate your power as if it was a standard 23deg day.

This is how some operators cheat (stick intake temp probe into a cup of boiling water... dyno will calculate out that the car makes more power than it does).
