Sweet!

What map is it on? just the base or has it been tuned previously?

may want to run sub 1 bar until it's retuned.

In the future you may want to re-size the boost pill to 1.00 mm to allow you to drop the waste gate duty to <50% to give you better boost resolution.

ASG tuned this car years ago (2 owners back) before the engine was rebuilt.

i will be getting a retune from ASG late November.

to re-size the boost pill will this hole have to be soldered and closed or drilled out to make bigger?

.8mm is the stock 99-00 WRX size.

You can use a pin vice & tip drills to open it up, no need to solder it.

You'll need a new piece of vac hose to re-install it inside of.

Simply T off any of the barbs on the front of the manifold.
you can also tee off the cooler pipes or off the turbo comp housing the differences are negliable & you will still see vac when not under boost.

Referring to my post in the other thread...

The Vacuum in the intake manifold is generated by the motor sucking air through the limited flow of the IACV with a closed throttle body.

Before the throttle body there is nothing that really limits the flow of air enough to generate a vacuum at idle.

I challenge you to try it. Hook up a boost/vacuum gauge to the compressor housing of your turbo and get back to us.

And anyway... The WHOLE point of a boost gauge is so you can see the pressure the engine is seeing. Connecting a gauge to any location other than the intake manifold is pointless.

I'll bet my 17 years in the industry that you are wrong.

The end.

VERY informative thread, bookmarked for future reference.

I was wondering if someone can help me with my power FC problem. The car was tuned to 1.0 bar (before i bought the car) using a manual boost controller, I have recently removed that and now i am only getting 0.7 bar.

I have replaced all the stock vacuum lines and the restrictor pill.

Should I also use the above procedure to get the boost where it should be?

YES! But tread carefully, set your peak boost for .25 under what you want BEFORE you play with the duty cycle % (in case you overshoot your target).

This will allow the PFC to boost cut before things get out of hand.

I can help you if you need me to.
