Lol, let me make it a bit more understanding. I know there a few already running a similar set up, what I'm trying to say is an addition to the ones already with similar set up popping out of ASG and possibly other work shops being close to the end of the year and going into 2013. Good to see more and more out there, makes me happy.

Highly recommend sleeving the block if you are doing a full rebuild.

Here are the results thanks to Nic from ASG.

Sleeved Ej257 Semi closed deck

Could I ask which parts in particular are the sleeves?

The reason that I ask is that in the US I have seen examples whereby they CNC around the liners and take out some block material to make room for a larger brace insert. The head is also machined so that the bracing plate locks the liners in place and aligns the head to the block at the same time. I haven't seen a picture but have seen it described a few times.

Exciting times with all of the 257's being built. How long til a Perth car has over 450 atw I wonder?

This isnt 2006 still is it? Many cars are running more than 550hp.

See the things that the piston slides in? Thats the cast iron sleeve. What you ar edescribing is close decking. Look up tino's build.

As RUSSGT said, look up Tino's build, ou won't find a better example of how a ej should be built.
As for 450hp atw, it's been done by a few people way before i could apply for my learners back in 03.

Look at the time of sale..and it was built way earlier. 600hp atw
