If youve only just put on the heat wrap its normal for it to burn off a bit of residue for a few hours worth of driving.

If its been on for a while, it means something has dripped onto it and is burning off. Check for oil and coolant leaks around the turbo and cam cover gasket and bolt seals.

The usual culprit is the drivers side cam cover gasket and bolt seals. Heat from the up-pipe and turbo concentrated around there causes the gasket to get hard faster than the passenger side.

Once its cool, feel around under the head with your finger tips.

Have had a better look now she has cooled down still not 100% but it seems to be comming from the turbo can't make out wear tho as there is heat shielding in the way

Check the oil feed for the turbo and also the oil drain pipe.

You should be able to see the feed coming off the back of the head going through a banjo bolt and a metal feed pipe heading up to the top of the turbo.

But you'll have to feel around underneath the turbo for the oil drain.
