Default 6 Speed DCCD

Hi, ive done a search and found lots of into on DCCD gearboxes but i was just wondering can you buy a non DCCD 6 speed gear box and turn it into a DCCD 6 speed? or do you need to buy a 6 Speed DCCD gearbox?
Is there any major differences? ie the whole gearbox housing different?

any info would be great thanks

The differential will fit in the cases, but the control systems are a different story, the factory control system takes signals from the ABS and engine control systems. But there are aftermarket DCCD controllers available, i think Motec and maybe some Jap brands, GReddy? Some of the other guys with more modding experience would know better about that. I bet if you search diff controller you will find something

To fit a DCCD unit into a VCD box you need the diff and transfer gears. And you need to drill out the hole for the DCCD wires to come through. Getting the DCCD unit itself is easy enough. But the transfer gears are a pain to get for a reasonable price.

Better off just selling the VCD box and putting in a DCCD box. Or getting a Cusco Tarmac if you just want some dori dori action.
