Rear brake conversion
Gents
I did this before on the hatch, but I can't remember what happened (getting old and brain cells are stuffed) For 1 pot to 2 pot rear brake conversion using standard WRX brakes, you would need the backing plate only, not the hubs right? before a smartass tells me i need the calipers as well, don't! |

Backing plates only, but try and find a set without having to resort to buying them new from Subaru for big bucks...THATS going to be your main problem

250 is big bucks? i got bought brand new MY02 backing plates when my rears got fitted.....ditch the handbrake hub altogether and get a hydraulic setup! the big bucks saved on the plates, gets u a handbrake conversion

I would have done the hydraulic setup on the hatch. But not now.

most ppl that have 2 pot rears don't usually keep the backing plate as they go to a bigger set of brakes, ie brembos
but you're right, backing plates are a must in a sale of rear 2 pot brakes |

... not to mention aside from extra costs, rear conversion doesn't make a whole lot of difference to your overall braking anyway. Better off using the money to fork out for a larger set of rims and by some new Brembo fronts imo (last quote I got was $600-700 per caliper). Much more noticeable!
