Default Help - need to remove steering wheel

Hello peoples.

I need to remove the steering wheel off an my00.

I took out the two torx (size 30) screws and undid the nut in the centre (17mm). I also pushed out the two screws that look like they attach to the boss.

The bloody thing still wont budge. I can put the hydraulic pullers on it but I was not sure if it was threaded. Any ideas?

Thanks

Brendon

Get medievel on it Brendan. ps. Hope the battery is disconnected so the air bag doesn't go off....although if you have undone the torx screws I am assuming thr airbag module is already out. It is just a splined shaft from there so once the centre bolt is undone, beat christ through it till it comes off.

No don't do that. Undo the central bolt but make sure it is still on with a couple of threads then brace yourself against the floor & pull like buggery while jiggling the wheel from side to side, if you take the nut completely off expect a BROKEN NOSE.

cheers.

Airbag is not an issue as it has already gone off. Was still some hair and dandruff on top of the wheel when i got it. Even better the sheila that was driving obviously was not wearing a seatbelt cause when her head hit the windscreen it souveniered some of her hair....which is also still there.....its a nice shade of auburn. No blood though.

Nearly got it stripped out to go to the panel beaters.

Cheers
