Default Turbo Smoking?

Hey guys, Just installed my TBE on my 06 Sti.. I have just started it up, and noticed that their is smoke coming from the turbo when I give it a rev. I am possibly thinking that it could be, because I cut the turbo heat shield to allow the 3" pipe to fit, or possibly be some WD-40 on it still from when i was trying to get the bolts off. Except it only seems to happen when i give it a rev and not when it is just at idle. If anybody could shed some light it would be much appreciated. Cheers

Normal - More than likely they sprayed some WD40 or something on the bolts on the dump to get it off initially.

See if it goes away over the next week or so.

Usually lasts for a few days, worst is when you pull up at the lights and smoke pisses out your bonnet vent.

This falls under the category of 'general maintenance' i thought.

Yep, My MY03 did the exact same thing when I installed my TBE.

WD40 on the hot side. Gone after an hours drive.

I had smoke coming from my turbo area and had to stop on Roe hwy for quick fix
As the hose from top tank to turbo had a small split which leaked onto the hot turbo...
Some duct tape and cable ties later all done for now until it was later replaced when I got home.

Exclamation

TBE on an 06 onwards requires a tune otherwise it might turn out to be quite an expensive exercise as the newer models computers don't like them, DAK DAK BOOM!!!!!
