if u dont have a guage i wouldnt mess around with the boost...
plus u need to monitor the boost in case it spikes or u loose boost,
over boosting, id say just wait till u can afford a guage then put both in at same time

Rule of thumb is:

If you do any mods to your car that increase air flow in or out of the engine, get a boost gauge!

When my pipework to the wastgate actuator shit itself I was running like 25psi boost. The car was amazingly quick, and without a boost gauge I would have thought - cool.........
So knowing what psi you are running is very important.
