Default Perrin kit to reduce thump.

Gents,

Thinking that the intermitent thump when changing gears may be the soft diff mount bushes.

I'm looking at the Perrin SLS/DLS kit. Why Perrin? Coz it's Red

The car is a MY05 STi.

Is this a good mod or is it not worth it? I do intend to get the car on the track very soon. Any Whitleline / Perrin comparisons would be great.

Does anyone know if someone stocks these in Perth as I am an impatient person who wants to do this tomorrow night!

Cheers,

Joe.

You dont see them. Even if your car is upside down. Just go to pedders and get em. About $17. Not sure 6 speeds needed them though.

Russ... I think you are thinking of the Whiteline Positive Gearshift kit.

I was meaning the bushes that are used on the rear diff mount including the outrigger bushes. The Perrin kit also has the subframe lock bolts.

Cheers,

Joe.

Thats what i was talking about. 2 rings that go between the outriggers to stop the thud of gear changes. Like i said, you dont see them. I used pedders and they where perfect.

Thanks again Russ.

The Perrin kit also has bushes for the diff stabilizer mount.
You need to remove the stud on the rear diff plate to install them.

Does Pedders have these as well?

Im not sure mate. BTW normally i would never recomend Pedders but because its for bushes they do them pretty cheap and they are good quality.

I put this kit in the Piggy and rate it a fairly decent positive. You will get a little more diff noise though. Not enough to piss you off but it is noticeable.

The couple of orders I got from Perrin were pretty quick even for the headers but today isn't going to happen.
