My MY06 STI had/has no airbag and I assume that the MY07 is the same. The cable under the seat is the seatbelt warning.

If you're putting in a side mount race seat and want a solid sliding (adjustable) frame, I suggest you do something along the lines of what I did - I fitted a Sparco EVO seat using a modified RA-R Recaro sliding frame bought frm Japanparts.
Mod (Rexxar on this site) bought the seat off me...I'm sure if you ask nicely he will let you have a look at the setup.

That true the spec r sti (2010-2012) recaro seats have side mount rails. Or you can pay someone like go gear to do it for you

Thanks for the responses guys! Pretty sure i dont have any airbags then. Can only see one plug and its not the airbag one as described by Spence.

Nauli, the seat i bought, i ended up buying the rails and side mounts as well. Everything should just bolt in right?

Anyone know if there any any legal issues of putting airbag seats in a car and not having them connected if the car never had airbags?
Fixing up an rs lib that came with what appeared to me to be 02 STI seats but just noticed they have airbags. Car needs to go over pits.

Cut off or black out the airbag tag. The car is not required to have bags but they may be a bit funny if they see an airbag tag on something that's not functional.
