Sorry for digging up this thread, but i got a new seat and want to try fit it up myself.
Question i have is, how can i confirm if my car (my07 sti) doesnt have side airbags?
Is there a sticker, cable or some sort of device on the side/beneath the seat that shows it does have side airbags?
Other info - my seats have been retrimmed with leather and i can see a cable running underneath the seat. I assume this is for the Brant?

Did some research on here
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/cosmetic...eats-help.html
http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanic...t-removal.html
and i think most 06/07 sti owners have said no to airbags on the side, just the front.

If there is no airbag, is it a simple unbolt seat, bolt new seat/rails/side plates in?

Would just like a confirmation or where i can check please. Dont want any airbag in my face!

if you look under your seat there will be 1 PLUG if its non airbag, (that one is for your belt buckle to say if its not plugged in.. if there is more then one then its most defiantly got airbags

also there will be a yellow tub about 8 inches long against one of the underside rails that would be for the airbag

Look under the seat, there will be a bright yellow plug( air bad) if you have side impact air bags there will be srs mould on the a and b pillar. Failing that take the trim off and have a look for an air bag or air bag wiring underneath the trim.

If there is no air bag then yes just Bolt the new seats in. Don't forget to transfer the original belt buckle to the new seat
