Why would you sleeve a closed deck block?

Got a reply overnight. Asked what his opinion was on sleeving and if I should go 2.0L or 2.5L

"Thanks you for your reply, the 2.0L is slightly more reliable only from blowing head gaskets but we don’t have any problems with the 2.5L short blocks that we do either and you can really only damage either or by over boosting, We have a few 2.5L High Performance engines that when tuned properly etc run around the 350 KW mark as they are, Anything over that and we recommend sleeving them."

Interesting. I guess with a closed deck there would be less need for sleeving which brings its own problems anyway.

Also wouldn't mind seeing more results from these. I'd ideally want something that can handle lots of boost for mass torque early on with peak power not being much of a concern.

You shouldn't have to pay the 15% NZD GST, but you will have to pay the 10% import duty plus 10% GST when it hits australia.

What capacity do they work out to ?
