Default Phenolic Thermal Intake Spacers

Hey guys

Quite obvious what i want to ask, but anyway i want to install my silicone turbo inlet pipe without the hassle of squeezing it under the manifold.

Question is is it worth to spend $100 on the phenolic spaces or just go to Subaru and get the original gaskets?

I would go with the 3mm as i have a TMIC.

Your experiences with phenolic spaces would be good also.

Help appreciated, thank you guys...

Getting the old one out is the problem it is not as flexible as the silicone one I ended up cutting some of the bits that stick up mine the new one goes in fairly easily with a bit of cursing and elbow grease

I have used this in my car, they recommend using a gasket on both sides of the saver. So you can't just substitute this saver for a gasket.

Its just as easy to take the manifold off cause you have to cut one of the fue pipe brackets off, as it hits the silcone intake. Did mine in an hour with new gaskets.

I've heard they are good, keeps the intake manifold cool enough to touch, but only really worth doing if you already have the manifold off.

I've got a set of Grimmspeed ones just sitting here for when I do something with my engine.
