Default rota wheels - any good for track work

gents,

i recall seeing a picture of a rota wheel basically comming apart on a race track?

are they any good?, i am chasing a set of 17x8.5's + 17x10.5's for my E30 build. it is 100% track car

can any one comment on this from previous experience of using Rotas on a 100% track car.

If it's a 100% track car go quality not cheap. That is all.

AFAIK, rota is only good for show, but not for track... As above go for quality..

There are alot of pics of snapped wheels on the nets. If its 100% track car i would save abit extra and go for some good enkies or something. Maybe the quality has come up on them? Also i supose that the e30 isnt too heavy. Its no r35 thats for sure!!!

just to chuck this out there, there are plenty of snapped enkies out there also (you won't find a wheel brand that hasn't been damaged during competition!)

If you are just doing weekend track stuff at AHG/RAC then I wouldn't be too concerned. However, I plan on getting ROTA wheels for my new car, which ever it is, but I will be keeping stockers for track, mainly because they will be smaller size and won't chew up my street tyres for daily driving, causing them to wear out faster
