Hmm, so any recommendations for proper vendor? Theres a few on ebay for $1300. Are these alright, or bad copies?
If i grabbed one 2nd hand would it be worth getting it checked out first?
Cheers

Doing it on a budget?

Go to dyno place.
Pay for dyno power run ($100-$150)
Ask dyno operator to dip temperature probe in a cup of coffee
...
Voilla! 400hp stock WRX

Profit.

A GTPS01 would be better. Either will work with supporting fueling, intake, cooling, exhaust mods and of course, a good tune.

I had an 01 wrx with GTPS01 (TD05-16G) (single scroll), FMIC, suitable fueling mods and tune, got 315hp at ASG* Was getting 1bar by 3200rpm and full boost by 3800rpm in 5th.

* this was with a re-built spec C motor and about 1.8bar boost.

There is nothing wrong with the TD05 turbos (quality ones) and the VF series turbos are pretty good too.

Im now running a FP TD05-18G SL2 turbo in my 05 sti with std TMIC, getting about 20hp less but 20-30Nm more Nm at less boost (about 1.5bar)
