its one of those things we need to hear for ourselves to give you a opinion, but i dont think its the crank pulley itself, if the crank pulley is worn you would get engine vibration cause the rubber bushing is worn, to me it sounds like a loose/incorrectly fitted belts or like a idler pulley etc.

fair enough.. i'm hoping it's just something minor that can be easily fixed. i've spent enough money on it as it is. i'll just wait and see what asg say on thursday.. i'll try post up a video of the noise tomorrow morning.

just to add.. started the car up tonight and its gotten louder. especially at 3000k+ revs. i can hear it over the exhaust

you could easily diagnose this if you have a stethoscope, pick them up fairly cheap, have a couple at work, makes life very easy

ok well it turns out i was wrong lol.. apparently my a/c compressor clutch is what's causing the problem. would explain why my a/c stopped working about 2 months ago. i hardly use it so it didn't bother me.

the other day we had sprayed a bit of WD40 in the centre of each pulley to see if it was one of them causing the problem. it actually helped when we sprayed the crank pulley, hence why we thought it was that. but ASG assure me it's the compressor clutch.

so oh well, a/c isn't important, it can wait thanks for the input guys
