Boost cut is there for a reason
Even if you think you kept boost to 18psi, there's boost spike to worry, where it can jump by 2-3psi and if you do that often enough, there's a good chance you'll be starting a new thread, "Need a new cheap engine"

The car is running really well at the moment. I have put the standard air filter back in (the pod was just a cheepie) and the only mods are cat back 3" exhaust and manual boost controller running 16psi. I am greedy for more power though. Will have to get saving for an Motec...........

There is a difference between running tuned at 19psi and just upping the boost to 19psi. If you read the post before yours somebody mentioned already the car can run lean and will give you problems.

un-tuned. good for 230hp atw.
yes, the car is running lean, back fire most of the time.
But NO problems

and the best bit, no boost spike.
