Default what exhaust?

can anyone help me chose a exhaust system?
i m looking at a HKS Carbon-Ti Exhaust cat back system. 75mm piping.
lets say i buy this system, and i want to mod my exhaust futher like from the manifold to the CAT. wht would i have to do then? do i have to throw away my HKS cat system and throw in a new one again or should i just mod everything from turbo back or even better manifold back?
pls alsp suggest me with a good exhasut system. if my choice is not good. or too small diameter piping.

Speedworks has a Xforce titanium system for the wrx for $1800... got bling factor, its light and loud.

You could fit some headers to give a different note and quieten it down a bit.

If you get your exhaust, the cat back system, you should have no probs fitting a dump pipe from turbo later on and having a cat fitted inbetween. Depending on what you wanna do, the xforce systems are prob the cheapest and easiest option. Even if you dont want titanium, speedworks has a stainless steel system with 10yr warrenty for $1400..... you cant knock that!!!

Gool luck

I went thought the same problem, seems to me you all get screwed big time paying for some fancy brand names and all you want is the get the exhaust gas quicker out , isn’t it?

All you need is some 3 inches pipe, hight flow cat and in between a resonator (that would take most of the droning out) and a straight ‘Magnaflow’, Cost , no more that 750 bucks! Now if you want to go real fancy, then you must let it breathe better first , coold intake, headers, mandrel bend, the above and some more ‘steroids’ for your ECU , big bucks. SS titanium, carbon, wasted money , exhausts do flow equal no matter what material is made. Yep!

Of course….some ‘air mechanics’ lol here will strongly disagree..

Usually what you are paying for is time, tools and materials.

If you got yours for $750.... why dont you put the name of where you got it fitted? If it was you that fitted it, maybe you could teach someone how to weld...oh and lend your welder to the person if they dont own one.
Alot of workshops dont do the 'fancy' brand names but still use the materials you described....but also still charge $1200+

s/s - lasts longer, less likely to rust
titainium - for those that are after weight saving for motorsports or drags

Well you might be right, but it doesn’t take more than 2 hours to make and fit a cat back. Material cost, that is, for the pipe is not more than 40 bucks at most and depending were you get a ‘Magnaflow’ at best this will set you back another 250 to 300 hard ones. Australian made resonator 4x14 inches 100 at the most Since I don’t have a hoist , went to many so called ‘exhausts specialist’ to have my car done, most of them are just farting in the wind with no real expertise in exhausts, the welding looks fried eggs and the use of flanges is not known to them.

Eventually I found some one that ‘knows’ something about exhausts, clean workshop, his welding is flawless, knows were to put the flange, bent pipes and do a real professional finish, almost factory looks! Time to do all the above.. 2 hr. thus the 750 bucks. For those interested:

ps: m/s will last you for 5/10 years and s/s does rust too

These guys are just up the road from my work, we've had a heap of brake work done there, very competitive and quality is great.
Although, this topic is bout exhausts, just thought I'd vouch for em. And at $750, thats a fkn ripper!

If going stainless steel ensure its 304 grade NOT the 409 shit that rusts.

On the market today, with warranty back up the x-force systems can't be beat for the money. Even the titanium system is at least 1k cheaper than the closest jap equivalent. xforce stuff has gone leaps and bounds in the last 12months.
