Default Autronic vs MoTec - re read 1st post

Guys, Just been sifting through the Autronic web site.... Why would anyone want to spend in excess of 4.5K on Motec vs 3 K on an Autronic?
Does the Autronic have any significant disadvantages compared to MoTec?
Planned mods are relatively minor at this stage - Zorst, CAI, Silicon intake pipe, fuel pump and FMI.
Did consider Utec again but the hesitation between ECU changeover used to give me the shits but I did like the use of factory cold start, highway gas consumption etc.
Morgy took me for a squirt in his modded 05Sti and EcuTec tune seemed very smooth with all the factory benefits still there, but I don't really like the no resale value for Tec 3......

Can anyone explain this auto tune function to me a bit clearer?
Lastly, anyone here have an Autronic on a late model car i can talk to ?

Thanx Al

Saw Wai's Autronic post for Race Torque GB...
Autronic is full replacement ECU as I understand, I would have thought there would be alot of shagging around as there is cold start, cruise fuel consumption, general dyno power tune, let alone all the other functions to be done (DCCD, air cond etc). I would have thought it would cost significantly more to tune 1 or 3 ECUs for a full tune than 1200 bucks (for 3 cars)?
Or do the Autronics come with a semi Subaru tune already programmed so its just the same as doing a UTEC style of tune? ie just ramp up boost, sort fuel and timing?
Cheers Al

I can answer that the PnP autronic is pretuned to suit subis. I believe that was the autronic in the group buy. Also from wat ive heard most places for that price dont dyno tune it. (MMS, Hyperdrive, Race Torque) U have to pay extra for the dyno tune. If this included on the group buy my mistake and apologies in advance. The reason for no dyno tune is that autronics has the auto tune function. It then just requires minor adjustments done by the tuner. Dunno about the question u asked tho pmh

It will need a full tune but most tuners will already have maps for things like cold-start so they just load them in.

what type of performance gain will autronic offer, compared to just adjusting fuel and air mixture and controlling boost

Because the tuning is on a seperate day to the installation and its a replacement ecu how do we get it to the dyno, do they just upload all standard subaru maps? or do they already have programs for WRXs?
