I just bought the lights (genuine Subaru) projectors off like the 02 sti, my mates an auto lecky, he said the bulbs are buggered, and I was wondering where the best place to get them from is because I've been told that the globes are expensive, and at the off chance the balasts are buggered aswell (hope to god they're not) would I be stuck or could I install a different hid kit and have the balasts outside the headlight unit (pretty sure the balasts are inside the headlight unit?)

i have just installed my jdm hid's with a custom loom i got from the usa that Balistic is also using, these require a external ballast for them to work i am using all factory stuff at the moment and was looking to replace the bulbs only.. i have opened one before and found what looks like a ballast inside not sure as i was not willing to fry me test meter to find out what it was

Yeh that's why I wasn't sure, my mate didn't want to fry his multimeter. So when these lights are on the sti's they have external balasts? And where and how much are these looms, and are they worth it or can you DIY it, keeping in mind I have an auto lecky as a mate.

1st is yor car wrx or sti if it is wrx you need this loom from this mob click or yor mate could work it out to get it to work but is a pain in the butt

Ok, I understand now, I need a loom, then a new hid kit (caz the globes are buggered) and I need balasts. Yeh?
