you need to buy a kit, that will have instructions on it. im pretty sure you cant just add a pod filter without some sort of adaptor

WHS, the pod filter should come with instructions and mounting/fitting hardware, be sure you have secured it properly to something inside the engine bay, and that its not just hanging there.

you could even try this:

PVC Pipe to Factory Airbox Mod (with pictures) - Rexnet Subaru Forums

not sure on what It will do in the way of power gains, but increasing the air flow is never a bad thing...

or possibly consider this:

NEW Apexi Power Air Filter Subaru Impreza 00-06 WRX STi | eBay

or a cold air intake, possibilities are only restricted by your budget and what you want out of the car.

MAKE SURE IT IS TUNED FOR YOUR MODS!

Best of luck.

Like most mods, will be pointless and possibly even have negative results without a tune.

most mods are pointless?...what?

Ummm, what?

As long as you tune to car to match any mods you choose to add..

And search is also good as Matty suggested

Dont turn my words around. That's not what I said.

Try it on your car if you want.
Chuck some big injectors in without making necessary ecu adjustments, and see what happens.
Bolt a 3" TBE on and watch your low rev response go out the window.
Put an in-gaurd cold air intake on and watch your car struggle to make it up the slightest hill from a stand still.
The list goes on.

My apologies, I misread what you typed.

Edited for my post, that most mods are pointless without the correct tune?
and you can't just bolt them on and expect it to work as it did before, it was the same with my WRX, cold air and a 3inch TBE, (UNTUNED) it struggled to go up hills and I had no torque in the low rev range, and would have to be in 3rd gear to get up any sort of incline in a residential area...

all good ?

Thanks guys. I finally installed it myself. Wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The next thing i need to know is how to secure the pod filter so that it doesn't move around?
