Even after you install a controller and run power to DCCD... All DCCD controllers are earthed into the hand brake switch so that when you pull the hand brake they immediately cut power to DCCD to allow the rear wheels to lock up independently of the front wheels.
Is there a simple and quick way to see if my dccd earth wire had been set up to the handbrake?

use a multimeter between any constant battery power source and the handbrake earth wire coming from the DCCD controller...

It should show 0V with the hand brake down and 12+V with the hand brake up.

if you are not sure which wire it is. Trace it back from the hand brake switch. Remove the trim pieces over the hand brake. You'll see the switch beneath the hand brake pivot near the mounts.

Put the fuckin' multimeter away nerd boy.

Head to the nearest carpark, set the DCCD to lock and slowly drive in circles, you'll soon feel it bind up....then repaet with the handbrake up just one notch (enough to light the warning lamp) if there's an immediate reduction/elimination of the binding, you're in business.
