Default Upgrade Time

Hey guys.

Ive got myself a MY01 WRX STI.

Was all stock when i bought it, and as of last week, i have recently gone to ASG and they have fitted it with:

New 3" TBE (The one on there was a bit old)
Cold Air Intake
New Fuel Pump
Verso Tune

Was wondering, what else would be worth upgrading on my car (without spending like 30k on it)

I want to run it for the street, but have it as quick and mean as possible. I was already thinking of upgrading to a short block engine, but couldnt really think of anything else. Input would be appreciated it. This is not a what im doing post, just simply asking on ideas for upgrades on my car to make it a beast

Yeah thats a smart idea. Id eventually get new rims on it. Either white or black (as its a white STI)

not sure what you mean by "upgrading to a short block engine". I would focus on handling mods if you havent already eg. sway bars, coilovers, roll centre kit etc etc

"Short block engine" you're referring to is an EJ207 block, which your car already has.
Best people you could speak to are ASG as they have knowledge of your car and have done many before that.
What I could recommend are the handling upgrades coupled with a bigger turbo and a new tune. As to which turbo there are much more knowledgeable people on here than me.

I was thinking of getting some coilovers/sway bars installed. Like yeah, im thinking of spending 10k max on this car to do it up as best as i can.

Go a set of HSD coilovers, full whiteline or perrin suspension package, some nice 8.5/9 inch jap spec rims, good rubber with a tough offset and you're well on your way to win.

Leave the 207 in it. If you want more torque, twinscroll it

^^^^This.

From your budget of $10k, this would be my wishlist (heck I even got prices for you off the p-wrx/whiteline/dba websites haha, can get the whiteline gear a little cheaper off Wheels World, STechnic, etc).

Just to give you a rough idea

HSD HR coilovers ~ $1400? (correct me if i'm wrong)
Whiteline heavy duty adjustable 22mm front swaybar $265
Whiteline heavy duty adjustable 24mm rear swaybar $265
Whiteline heavy duty swaybar links $325
Whiteline heavy duty rear swaybar mount $155
Whiteline anti lift kit $315
Whiteline roll centre kit $259
DBAT2/T3 slotted front rotors $449 (see the CarModsAus vendor on here)
QFM A1RM front brake pads $149 (see GSL rallysport vendor on here)
Better brake fluid (Brembo/AP/Endless...all under $100)
Labour $Dont have a clue haha
Get it down to RAC/AHG driving center for a skidpan or two

Total NOT including labour : $3682, plenty of change for labour not mention some good rubber + wheel alignment to make it all worth while....but the car may make your passengers very ill around corners

If you want more power tried and trusted VF34/P20 + TMIC + Silicone intake + Boost control solenoid + re-Verso though that may be pushing budget (again taking into account labour costs)....this may also make your passengers very ill under boost

Happy modding
-Shane.
