^^^^This.

From your budget of $10k, this would be my wishlist (heck I even got prices for you off the p-wrx/whiteline/dba websites haha, can get the whiteline gear a little cheaper off Wheels World, STechnic, etc).

Just to give you a rough idea

HSD HR coilovers ~ $1400? (correct me if i'm wrong)
Whiteline heavy duty adjustable 22mm front swaybar $265
Whiteline heavy duty adjustable 24mm rear swaybar $265
Whiteline heavy duty swaybar links $325
Whiteline heavy duty rear swaybar mount $155
Whiteline anti lift kit $315
Whiteline roll centre kit $259
DBAT2/T3 slotted front rotors $449 (see the CarModsAus vendor on here)
QFM A1RM front brake pads $149 (see GSL rallysport vendor on here)
Better brake fluid (Brembo/AP/Endless...all under $100)
Labour $Dont have a clue haha
Get it down to RAC/AHG driving center for a skidpan or two

Total NOT including labour : $3682, plenty of change for labour not mention some good rubber + wheel alignment to make it all worth while....but the car may make your passengers very ill around corners

If you want more power tried and trusted VF34/P20 + TMIC + Silicone intake + Boost control solenoid + re-Verso though that may be pushing budget (again taking into account labour costs)....this may also make your passengers very ill under boost

Happy modding
-Shane.

you already have the bulletproof motor, don't even entertain ideas of going to a EJ257. If you want more torque, go Twinscroll.

I would look at rims and tyres, coilovers, handling, sways, links etc and then get some seat time, get used to the car, before chasing more power! And when it comes time to, MoTeC that shit :P

Thanks for the price list of what i could go for.. Ill deffs print that out and look into it. And what is twinscroll? ive never heard of it before? I got told the STI's run 18psi stock, because thats what mine is running at, With the new turbo/handling mods etc all stacked onto it.. Would it be worth it boosting it from 18 to 20/21/22?

Thats a pretty good idea, get all the handling almost maxed first, then chase torque/power. As if i did it the other way, id probs end up in a tree, and i dont want that :/.

Im picking up my car today from ASG as i work in the mines and have been away for a week, so im hoping with the mods i meantioned that got done to it earlier, it will definently be noticably quicker/smoother drive.

It will probably be on 20psi when you pick it up.

Lots of info via the search button re: twin scrollage.

You have much to learn young padawan.
I suggest you spend a few hours researching and reading. The search function at the top of the page is a good place to start.

I dont think it is, when i picked it up, Sean handed me a copy of the dyno sheet and said that was on 17 or 18psi. So im not sure if he boosted it up more. It never had a dyno run before the mods, but Sean reckons its probs a 50hp increase or so. Which i think is all right. It drives alot smoother now, and i can feel the extra power.

However, the cold air intake, is it as good as people say it is? it hasnt really cooled anything down :/ but it does make the blow off valve sound louder when i change gears now haha

It would be interesting to see what turbo it already has on it, VF30 or VF35 considering its an 01. VF30 is bigger than a 35, similar to a 34 in size but sleved instead of roller bearing AFAIK? Not a bad turbo depending on age.

If I was you and had 10K to wax, I'd spend about $4500 on suspension stuff and the remainder on a good FMIC and a TD06-20G turbo. It will handle nice and dish the chop to all the twin scroll circle jerk hard hahahaha. :-)
