Default Muffler Silencer

I have 3" TBE with are rather large cannon muffler. On the highway after a while it can cause a head ache, so i was thinking the cheapest option would be to get a silencer made up to fit because it didn't come with one.

Any suggestions on a good exhaust place to get one made up?

The exhaust places in Albany(Where I live) aren't real keen on doing it themselves and I would want it done properly! I am going to perth soon so was hoping to get something done while im up!

Cheers in advance!

Most places should be able to sort something out for u. Try Cypher Industries, they make all their zorsts in house and can easilt fabricate a silencer for u. www.cypherindustries.com.au

Hi there, I have the same problem as you do. I'm using a X Force TBE and I get plenty of dronings in the region of 2000rpm.

I played around look for options in reducing the volume by looking a resonator, ECV exhaust control valve and silencer.

Silencer does help to extend extend but restrictive on airflow. For me its ok for daily drives unless doing a bit of track work.

ECV is abit new to me. I have not tried it myself but I reckon its gonna cost $200-300 thereabouts. Basically you are comparing removing the silencer which is a few mins of work VS the flexibility of controlling your exhaust volume.

Resonators (2 usually) will help reduce the drone

Just reduce the size of the muffler tip - keeping the exhaust piping size the same, going from a 4" tip to a 3" can result in HUGE differences in noise and drone.

Bro, mine is a 3" X force exhaust. I don't know if its the droning or the volume but the exhaust alone is capable of setting off 4 car alarms in a row at the multi storey carpark along roe street northbridge.

Just kidding ...

You can try the X force. Quite a budget option but the droning is insane ...

I love the note 90s wrx make.
