Bought a V5 sti halfcut and got the rear end with it. What type of rear diff should it be? Vlsd? Cluch pack? How can i tell them apart if i open the diff cover? Also the rear calipers are single pot,is that STI?? Thanx Chris |

R160 4.44 with suretrac LSD
You can unscrew the oil filler bung. Shine a torch in there. You should be able to identify the LSD. V5/6 STI has single pot sliding calipers in the rear. Only the V5/6 STI-RA got twin pot rear calipers. They also got R180 hubs, shafts and 2 way plated R180 diff.

I don't think GC8 STI's came with 2-pot rear brakes, so singles sound right.
EDIT: Beaten to it! |
