Default Liberty GT Exhausts

Hey All,

Been floating around the forums looking for exhaust system for my 05 Liberty GT but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about, this is obviously a wrx forum but everyone here seems to have better knowledge of stuff than anywhere else I look.

I'm chasing a Full exhaust system for my 2005 Liberty GT, was just wondering from anyones experience what brands of Exhaust system are people using, obviously a tune would be in order after this has taken place so if there is any place that will do the full exhaust and the tune that would be Ideal.

Looking to spend from 1500-2500 (Think this is about the right price)

If anyone has had any experience with Xforce exhausts or the Varex Mufflers an update on how yours are going would be helpful as they seem to be the ones that pop up the most for the Liberty.

So rounding all that dribble up, A good exhaust system, and a price any helps appreciated!

Thanks

Is yours the 2L Liberty GT? Twinscroll turbo.

Have a look on rexnet. There is a vendor on there called TCP Auto. Im pretty sure they have bolt on turbo back exhaust systems for that model.

Have had 2 Xforce systems now and 2 Varex mufflers.

I'm a fan. They are just 'cheap china' but with a little bit more QA giving a better product than the ebay spec exhausts out there.

Personally with a Lib, I'd be wanting to go down the stealth route, increasing flow, but keeping the refined nature of the car. In that case, I'd be looking at a JASMA approved Japanese brand (HKS etc) exhaust. I currently run the HKS Legamax on the Evo X and love it. It doesn't allow maximum power, but is quiet, refined and very good for daily use. I have bugger all drone in the car compared to others running a 3" louder system.

Hitech make a sweet TBE for the Liberty GT. Flows very well, fitment and finish excellent and sound is very quiet except on WOT.

A full turbo back exhaust or cat back exhaust?

Biggest issues is getting an appropriate down pipe ("DP") as USDM ones do not suit and auto DP is different shape to manual.

Sounds good, yeah the reason that the Varex is so appealing to me is I can drop the noise down as I see fit. So you had no problems getting that all installed? If I got the full TBE with the Varex Mufflers what kind of tune would be required?

Do they have a local supplier here in WA, or is it shipped in from elsewhere?

Get on Liberty ASN as well. There are many threads on mufflers with video clips for sound. Descriptions of what DP with which muffler etc.
