Unhappy Help! Dome+Boot light and clock+radio aren't working and doors wont lock!

Hi All,

I'm new to forum, so i'd like to say hi to everyone.

I just bought a bugeye WRX yesterday and i was changing the lights this afternoon. First I changed my interior dome light to a blue led light (worked) and then I changed the boot light to a led light aswell but now the boot light and dome light arent working at all. And now i think it has affected my radio and clock because they dont turn on aswell andd my doors arent locking/unlocking when i press to remote for it.

I've checked the fuses in the engine bay and inside, i checked the "radio audio" fuse and the "door lock" fuse and both seem to be fine. I couldnt work out which one was for the boot and dome light.

I tired disconnecting the battery to possibly give it a power cycle? but that didnt work.

Just wondering if there was anyone that could help me out?

By the way, the radio is a factory subaru radio, the one that can take 6CDs and has a tape player too.

Much appreciated!

Thanks!

Albert

okay -_- makes it a bit harder, cause usually the Brant system is Satan in electronic form.

Have you tried replacing the aftermarket lights with the OEM ones???

hmmmmm.....

does the car start alright? not struggling to turn over?

It's very difficult to diagnose over the internet, but it might be worth taking it to an auto sparky.

Have you checked all related fuses? accessories etc?

Did you dissconnect the battery before attempting to change the interior lights over???

Help! alarm, interior lights, clock, radio do not work - Subaru Impreza WRX STI Forums: IWSTI.com

reading from here, it is possible that you could have shorted something out and blown a fuse???

re check them ALL and if possible with a multimeter because visual inspection doesn't always guarantee that it is working properly.

The lights that i was putting it were the same lights that i used on a different impreza before i sold it and it worked fine. So i only assumed that it was good.
I havent tested the power outlets because im not to sure how to.

Also i looked at the fuse box and couldnt really understand it, i could work out which one was radio but i wasnt sure which one was for the lights =S

I disconnected that battery after doing the lights because i thought it may needed a power cycle because the fuses were fine.

Thanks Brett for those links i shall read them now.

Also Thanks for the help!
