Default Issues with Brant

Now, I've seen through this forum that quite a few people have issues with Brant. However, how common are the issues that are happening with Brant that warrant a rip out of the system and installing Autowatch (or other security systems)? As in what is the ratio of it happening to WRX owners (eg. 50%, 70% etc )? And at what km's do I start experiencing issues with Brant generally?

I'm planning on ripping Brant out ASAP as I don't want to get stuck in the middle of no where or on the way to work rather than taking the chance and waiting for it to break down on me.

I've had a car with brant. Had it from 66k to 94k, never experienced a problem with brant. It really is hit and miss. There's no pattern, just bad batches.

Mine played up at about the 150k mark, and have now gone down the auto watch path.

I believe suburu would retro fit it back as far as MY99's if you asked.

Mine died 3 times before removal, at around 55k, 80k and 105k.
the last time it died it locked me out and I refused to give the subaru dealer the satisfaction of charging me to reset it with the master code.

If you plan of ripping it out, do it while its still in working order. Makes it easier to locate
how its immobilising the vehicle. Replace it with something else that has a keypad
to avoid you pride and joy going missing if the keys get taken.

Mine was playing up a bit, so while it was still in working order it took me about 20 minutes to
find how it was wired in and rip it out. Now replaced it with a custom keypad unit.
