I am curious, has Antonella had any issues with the short shifter from Ultrex? I purchase one for my MY04 WRX based on their online guide but have found that when I tried to fit it it isn't allowing me to select first gear, it's the one to suit 97-07. I get the feeling it's incorrect ad the original one is bent just after the pivot. Any advise would be great.

hey mate, i have an ultrex shifter and it fitted fine.The only thing was i had to trim the top left corner of the metal surround ( see pics ) otherwise i don't think i could of got into first gear without hitting it, maybe this is the problem??

Hi, yep that's the exact problem with mine the rod from the gear box is hitting the metal plate.
I will trim mine too
