Default Steering knuckle install

Could any of you lads recommend a good workshop to help me install an STI steering knuckle on a MY11 wrx?

Need the clearance for the Invidia downpipe I'm about to order!

How much is the knuckle worth?
By the time you factor in the Invidia system, the knuckle, the labour to put it in... does it come close to getting a custom exhaust made up?

Thanks!

The knuckle was quoted to be $60, and the downpipe $600. I'm not too sure about the labour costs that would be involved with the knuckle install though.
It would be charged hourly I assume?

Any ballpark figures on the labour cost? It apparently takes 2-3 hours to put in STI knuckle...

Where did you source the knuckle from?

Would love to know also as I am planning on ordering an Invidia TBE in the new year. Steering knuckle, exhaust and H brace will hopefully be completed in one foul swoop.

S Technic in Maddington always does good work.
For your info -we have the MY11 sedan complete TBE stainless steel exhausts arriving tomorrow - if needed can supply dump pipe only - these are developed with S Technic for our right hand drive cars so there is no need to fudge the steering knuckle with ours. Just install - fits spot on as it is made for AUS spec - not USA spec.

Going to be a market leader on the pricing too!

I will upload a youtube link when I get a chance

Will be posting them up on the website and forum over the new few days once the container is unpacked and I can take some pictures of them

Cheers
Rob

I called up Prospeed Racing today, and they told me that they could supply one for an extra fee of $60, so I think that is acceptable.

What kind of design is the downpipe Rob? 3 inch? Divorced or bellmouth?

Its a 3 inch dump - flared mouth design - a bell mouth tends to hit the steering knuckle on RHD so we have a smooth flowing flared mouth design in order to NOT hit the steering knuckle.

This system is 3 inch and then reduced to 2.5 where it splits in to 2 pipes - then twin tip mufflers

Well called up a few places today asking for labour quotes, and it roughly comes up to $500 for the knuckle and Invidia downpipe install.

Do you guys reckon that's worth it? Or should I just go with another brand that doesn't require the STI knuckle?
