Default Reducing turbo lag

What sort of modifications (short of getting a smaller turbo) can one do to reduce the turbo lag on a 03 WRX? I just noticed that alot of modern cars have maximum torque at very low rpm's and was thinking if it's possible to achieve that with the WRX.

Also, if the above is achieved (say I do manage to get maximum torque at 2k rpm), what is the effect on fuel consumption? I'll only imagine it will skyrocket upwards

Variable vane Turbo will do it too.

Supercharging will too.

Standard WRX hardly has any lag! Sell 2.0L 03 WRX, buy 2.5L 06 WRX. Bigger engine, same size turbo.
But, what TJ said, stroker kit or 2.5 conversion.
Or just change down gears

Twin scroll with Dual AVCS(not worth the conversion imo), lots of boost

or a front mount works well I've heard

forester TF035 turbo. Practially make boost coming right off idle.

Useless top end though.

Lower your boost. Will hit the target sooner.

bigger dump pipe, TMIC = less piping - silicon turbo inlet pipe for better flow - better tune

works for me - my turbo starts spooling from 1800 hits peak boost at 2500 / 4000 rpm @ 19psi

also note that my engine is a 2.5 ltr but the steps remain the same
