Well, the guys at STechnic have driven my car a couple of times already and none of them mentioned anything out of the ordinary with the engine. Well, the turbo does start to spool at 2k ish rpm, but I don't get max torque till over 3k rpm. Maybe I just want more?

How many 2 litre WRX dyno plots have you seen where the max torque is under 3K RPM??
If you want more torque make sure the engine revs are within your torque band (ie shift down a gear if you need to) or as Teejay said, buy a V8...... On crack!

Even a EJ25 tuned will be lucky to hit peak torque at 3000 let alone 2000.

Even the new supercharged V8 Fords dont hit peak torque till 2200
Have fun achieving this goal in a turbo 4 cylinder 2 litre engine. ps: peak torque in a brand spankin HSV GTS is 4600 (bet you dont hear them whinging about lack of torque....

Lag is a reality that you're going to just have to deal with, be it a Supra, Skyline or whatever other turbo charged car you drive.
Just find ways around it. Spool the turbo up at standstill and down gear more aggressively. That or just learn to get over it. :/ |

Ah bugger. Guess I'll just live with it then eh.
No one knows about any turbo that spools even earlier than the td04 but have the about the same power? |
