Spot lights in radiator intake area
Howdy all,
I feel that i didnt get off on the best foot but hope that all changes Basically i wanted some feedback or ideas on this topic. I have 2 rectangular spotties that would fit in the front bar of the car next to the number plate. They arent huge and would only just fit in between the number plate and the bumper. They would take up the whole section horizontally but not vertically. I wanted to know whether having these here would obstruct the flow to the radiator too much?? The front of the car looks like this with the number plate in the same location I was going to mount them to the bottom of the bar I understand that its only plastic here but i have felt it and it feels quite stiff, with some extra sheet metal underneath it should brace fine. Reason why? I have to do a fair bit of country driving coming up (driving up to exmouth and back over 9 days in christmas) basically the stock round fog lights arent that brilliant and id love to have more vision to make sure i dont hit any roo's etc at night... Also this isnt permanently just to get me up there and back Constructive thoughts?? Thanks |

should be fine
I have Hella Comets mounted behind the grill on my XT and it never overheats , even driving at low speed on sand during summer

no worries, 99% of my driving will be in high temps but also at highway speeds...
I was going to take the 2door 4wd but its going to be so uncomfortable and loud for the trip, good thing is it has a massive bullbar so roos arent a problem..they would make a bit of a mess of the wrx though |

Fit a set of H4 hi/lo HID's ...... Then you won't need spotties at all.

I agree on the HID's, those would give you more than enough vision (while also blinding anyone you come across!). But the driving lights should be okay, I mean the intake temps on my car didn't change when I put two Hella Supertones in the front grill and those things are huge! Might have a problem if you went absolutely flat out though...

Buy a light bar from supershit for $30.
No need to create holes in your bumper. No radiator obstruction.

Mounts using the number plate bolts. Fits a WRX. Here it is on mine...

thanks mate bought one now,
For those who want to know or are interested they are currently on sale for $19 something. Went there and couldnt help myself bought a few more things such as a cams approved fire extinguisher (cant trust previous owners wiring). That was no sale for a similar price for 1kg ABE |
