4 Pot GC8 conversion FAIL!!!
Hey guys,
Ran into an interesting (and kinda expensive) problem last night as I fitted 4 pot calipers to my early 96 wrx. Basically I was advised by some I would be able to put the 4 pots on the front with a bigger rotor, so I bought some DBA 4650XS rotors second hand. Fitment and alignment was perfect, except for the fact that upon torquing up my wheels, the internal drum of the rotors didn't clear the ABS pickup wheel which is attached to the hub... didn't realise until I reversed out of driveway and cut the first drive short there was a problem. I had cracked the pickup wheel and pushed it against my ABS sensor. So..... now I need to know whether early GC front hubs are compatible with 4 pots and whether I need new hubs or whether my rotors are incorrect... and if anybody has hubs for crackpipe money let me know hehe
