In response to some earlier posts - I found a guide to reset the odo on GC8's to any number you wanted, and calculate the checksum. Yet to try it, however. When I build a new motor, perhaps.

update is I managed to source a GVB STI 6MT cluster via Rising Sun
I still have some concerns about how I am going to incorporate it into the Forester and really need some advice on the relationship betwwen the ECU, Transmission Control Unit, Body Control Unit and Gauge Cluster.
