Default gc8 with GD rims - need spacers

hey guys, i have recently got some GD rims and new tires for my 98 gc8 and i want the rims to fill out to the guards. im sure someone has done this before, just wanted to know what spacers i should get. ill be keen for it as long as its safe and as long as one of the wheels doesnt overtake me on the highway

I am guessing it would only need a 5mm spacer. If you begin running big spacers on WRX's, expect to start needing to replace studs or wheel bearings.

5mm should be ok.

For 5 mm i wouldn't even bother, they look fine as is.
If you are desperate for it to sit flush, purchase some 17inch Rotas for $999 with the right offset and put the tires on there.
Sell GD rims
Profit??

hmmm yeah i got these rims for only $350 so it was well worth it. but the old crappy aftermarket rims i had before was flush with the guards, it just would of been nice to fill em out again. depends on how much spacers are i suppose. so if i go for 5mm, do i need to buy a specific spacer set? or even if there is a shop in perth that could look after me that info would be great.

5mm will be hardly noticeable, the only way to do it properly is with hub-centric spacers & longer studs.

also, whatever diameter the wheel stud is, that is the amount of thread engagement you need for the wheel nuts.

Roll the guard lip flat. 20mm bolt on spacers.... if you want it flush... and maybe risk not having insurance.

Would not run spacers on standard studs, the factory nuts only sit about half-way on the thread as is with the GD wheels..

the factory nuts dont sit about half-way on the studs - they have full thread engagement

Sorry, exaggerated a bit... I've got an open ended lock nut on mine (similar size to stock) which has about 5mm of unused thread which looks very worrying to me :P

THESE
with some guard rollage.

These may or may not fit inside your guards. You need to measure your current space between the top of the tyre and the guard.
