TGV errors are fairly common if the installer is not particularly careful.

also its possible to clear the CEL via other means (without resistor).

Pete.

DO NOT put the original EGT probe back in the new up-pipe.

This EGT probe is designed to check "catalytic converter over temp". If it does detect this, the car goes into limp home mode and the check engine light comes on. The reason for this is so the cat doesnt overheat, and crumble up and go for a high velocity ride into the blades of your turbo.

When you remove the cat converter and fit a catless up-pipe, the probe is exposed to hot exhaust gas rather than being "protected" from direct exposure by the catalytic converter, and it will overtemp quite easily. Not only will your ECU throw a CEL and go into limp home mode, but you risk melting the probe and having this go kamakaze into your turbo.

Keep the probe OUT of the new up-pipe, have a bung placed in the threaded hole, and slip a 2.2k 1/2 watt resistor into the connector where the EGT probe plugged into. The resistor is about 30c from Jaycar.

Other than that, speak to Pete (Intra). He can remove the CEL without the resistor

Very safe, leave it in there forever.

Make sure you tape it all up so no water gets in there or anything. Some people put some grease in there too to make it all waterproof.

Because the EGT probe works on resistance, the resistor you put in the connector shows the computer a set resistance which is within its safe range, and therefore there will be no check engine light.
